Horsemanship Skills

Do you want to enhance your relationship with your horse and improve performance? I'm here to help you explore equitation science and evidence based horsemanship methods.

Maybe you want a clearer understanding of the aids?

Or you are interested in using positive reinforcement?

Perhaps you want to safely introduce your horse to a bitless bridle?

Maybe you need me to train your horse for you?

I can help you with all of these things.

For over two decades, I have been helping horse people like you get better relationships and better performance without the fight. I can help you keep your horse feeling safer and calmer. Then I can also help you discover the application of learning theory for lighter responses to the aids, how, why and when to bring in positive reinforcement methods including clicker training and bitless riding.

If this is what you are looking for then I can offer you 1-2-1 lessons at your home or yard, as little or often as you like. I am also available for clinics and workshops so do get in touch if you would like to organise such an event for your yard or riding club. I travel across South and West Wales to provide this service and I'm also willing to travel further afield to share the my expertise with you.

***Try before you buy***

Come and visit me and my horses and I can show you how to use positive reinforcement in your training as well as demonstrate how bitless bridles work

Sometimes it’s not always possible to train your own horse and so I also offer horse training: from foal, through to backing and riding away, and also to assist with behavioural problems (although in that case you will need a veterinary referral and behavioural consultation first).

The key thing is I visit the horse in their own home to train them, saving them the stress of moving away, even temporarily to another yard. This does mean that I can only offer this service on Gower. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
